We are premiering something new.  We are not doing “The Gauntlet” this year.  
 
Spike of Spike and Mike announces a whole new dimension of his Animation Film Festival. Spike is bringing a rebooted Festival to San Diego Comic-Con. This is not your 20th Century Festival but a whole New Generation Animation. Getting back to the roots of the original Spike and Mike’s Animation Festival this show will have sophisticated, humor innovative and brilliant films including award winning films as well as new outstanding student shorts. But don’t think that you party animals will be left out – after the highbrow part of the show we go straight into lowbrow territory with some of our Sickest and Twistedest in our double feature presentation. Cool, Creative, Cutting Edge Masterpieces! Each show will runs about 45 minutes so you party people can time your – medication – just right!

It’s been over ten years since Spike himself made the trip up to Vancouver he will be present opening weekend to sign “everything” & introduce the show. The show will include a few of the all time classics plus a ton of premiers!  Spike handpicked the films himself and invites everyone to watch 90 min of the sickest, most brilliant, artistic and funniest animation shorts he’s ever put together!
Midnight shows are BACK!!  Spike & Mike are BACK!!  From the people that theatrically premiered Bevis & Butthead, South Park, Wallace & Gromit as well as the first Pixar animation shorts ever produced!  Look out for our colorful flyers with Emek artwork around town!  Watch for Spike… every day will be different crazy hat day! Vancouver is well represented by such titles as:  “Yellow Sticky Notes”, “Stillwaters”, & “Odious Lepus”.  Over 22 animated films including great titles such as the recently acquires masterpiece “Eleven Roses”, “Home Honey, I’m High”, “Fantaisie in Bubblewrap”, “Happy Tree Friends”, “Washington”, “Crab Revolution” “The Mosquito Who Gave Up Blood” & “Dr. Tran”!!

This time to it's new home at the Grand Illusion. OVER 30 new shorts ranging from Mike Geiger's nauseating "Cuddle Sticks" (featuring the most disgusting popsicle imaginable!), to the touching "Yellow Sticky Notes" are presented along with a couple of old favorites thrown in for good measure. So come on out and enjoy an unforgettable (you'll wish you could) night of gross and grotesque animation. Fun for the whole family! No children allowed!
